Start with MyBenefits

MetLife's MyBenefits portal lets you review your dental coverage, access an ID card and use available cost-estimate tools. You can also follow claim activity online. Have your employer or group information ready when checking your plan.

Check your exact dental network

MetLife offers different dental products, including PPO and DHMO plans. Use the network named in your plan materials when searching its dentist directory, and confirm the treating dentist and office location before your visit.

Ask about a pretreatment estimate

For more extensive dental work, ask whether your dentist can submit a pretreatment estimate to MetLife. It can help you understand the expected insurance payment and your share. The final payment may change with your remaining benefits, deductible, frequency limits or other plan terms.

Before your visit

  • Have your current dental ID card or member ID and employer or group information ready when you call.
  • Ask about your remaining deductible and annual maximum, and when your benefit year resets.
