Consultation to completion

Step by step.

  1. Consultation and 3D Scan

Your consultation includes a health review, examination, and any imaging needed for planning. We’ll explain whether you need a 3D scan, where to have it taken, and how the findings affect your options, likely timeline, and written treatment estimate.

  2. Placement Day

Local anesthetic numbs the treatment area, with sedation available when appropriate. Appointment length and recovery depend on the procedure. We discuss both before treatment.

  3. Healing Over Several Months

Bone heals around the implant through a process called osseointegration. Follow your care and eating instructions during this time. We discuss suitable temporary tooth options before treatment.

  4. Your New Tooth

Once healing is sufficient, we attach the connector and custom crown, check your bite, and explain daily care and maintenance.

Four stages: assessment and planning, implant placement, healing, and final restoration with ongoing care.
Your plan may include additional stages. Healing, temporary teeth, and the timing of the final restoration depend on your clinical needs. View full-size image

Recovery, day by day

What recovery really feels like.

First 48 hours:

Some swelling and soreness are expected. Follow your instructions for pain relief, eating, activity, and oral care.

First week:

Recovery varies with the procedure. We explain when to return to work and how any stitches will be managed. Contact us if symptoms worsen or you have concerns.

The healing months:

We check progress at scheduled visits. Continue the care and eating instructions provided, and report pain, swelling, or a feeling of looseness.

After your crown:

Brush, clean around the implant as instructed, and keep regular maintenance visits. These help us monitor the tissues and restoration over time.

Good questions. Clear answers.

Common questions about the process.

Will I be without a tooth during healing?

Temporary replacement is possible in many cases. We explain what is suitable for your mouth and whether there may be any period without a replacement tooth.

How much work will I miss?

Time off depends on the procedure, sedation, and type of work you do. We give you an individual recovery estimate and explain when to resume your usual activities.

What if I need extractions or grafting first?

Extractions or grafting may be done before or during implant placement, depending on your case. We explain which care can be provided here, any referral needs, and how additional healing could affect the schedule.
